Dr. Emmalee Mehler completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. She continued her education at New York Chiropractic College where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.
Emmalee lived most of her childhood in Ilderton and is thrilled to be back in the community providing treatment to all ages- from children to adults. She started her journey with chiropractic as a child herself and was amazed at how it improved her quality of life. When choosing a career she knew she wanted to be able to be able to not only contribute back to her community but also help those around her in the way her life was improved by Chiropractic care.
Dr. Emmalee has been treating patients since 2014. She began her career in a hospital in Rochester, New York that specialized in traumatic injuries and geriatric care, but knew she wanted to return to Canada to continue her career. When she returned to Canada she worked in Waterloo and London Ontario and was later able to return to her hometown of Ilderton in 2019 when she became the owner of Active Chiropractic and Massage Therapy. She is thrilled to be treating patients in such a wonderful community that has brought her home. She holds membership with the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA), the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), and the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA).
Dr. Emmalee is happy to treat patients of all ages. She finds joy in treating women through their pregnancy and post natal care, newborn babies, children and all life stages. She has experience treating both professional and local athletes and enjoys helping to rehabilitate their injuries so they can continue to thrive in their sport. She believes maintaining proper mobility and a healthy spine and nervous system allows her patients to achieve maximum function throughout their life.
She utilizes treatments that include spinal and extremity manipulation and mobilization, myofascial release therapy, soft tissue cupping technique, myofascial taping, nerve flossing techniques, coupled with prescribed homecare rehabilitation exercises. She is able to provide her patients with customized orthotics and has her whole foods nutrition certificate so is able to assist her patient with their nutrition needs.
